Al HombroekBeverly Hombroek •  Alyson Hombroek

Al Hombroek, President of MBC, offers over 26 years of insurance industry experience with the following professional designations: Chartered Life Underwriters (CLU), Chartered Financial Consultants (ChFC), and Long-Term Care Professionals. A former Board Member of the Atlanta Life Underwriters Association, he currently serves as Vice President of the Atlanta Association of Health Underwriters. A 1995 graduate of the Leadership Gwinnett Program, Al has acquired two insurance agencies over the past ten years from retiring professionals. He specializes in consulting with small to medium-sized business (5 to 1000 employees) in developing employee benefits programs and also in helping individuals achieve their personal insurance needs.

Outside the insurance profession, Al is active in his civic and religious communities. He is a past President or Chairman of several organizations, including the Rotary Club of Lawrenceville, the Dunwoody Toastmaster’s Club, the Bethesda Elementary School PTA, and the Men’s Club at Bethesda Methodist Church (where he and his family have been members for 24 years). He is also a Trustee with the Georgia Rotary Student Program and was involved with Teachers as Leaders.  Al has further participated as a committee member for his church, the Boy Scouts, the American Heart Association of Gwinnett, and the Superintendent’s Council of Community Advisors- Gwinnett County Public Schools.

Al, happily married to Beverly for 28 years, lives in Snellville. Of their four adult children (two girls, two boys), the two girls are graduates of Georgia State University, and the two boys are college students—one at Georgia Tech and the other at rival UGA. Al says that situation “makes life interesting.”

Beverly Hombroek, Bookkeeper, moved to Gwinnett County in 1978. She has worked with her husband Al in the business on and off while their children were little before becoming a “regular” in 1996. She manages Licensing, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Bookkeeping. Highly active in Bethesda United Methodist Church, she volunteers for the Puppet/Drama Ministry, United Methodist Women, Missions, and Teaching. She is a former Girl Scout Leader and Cub Scout Leader, and has also participated in the 3-Day Breast Cancer walk.

As a mom who is proud of her four adult children, Beverly is also pleased to report another personal accomplishment: climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro with Alyson and Al in 2007.

Alyson Hombroek, Account Manager, was born and raised in Gwinnett County, but a Film and Video degree (magna cum laude) from Georgia State University that included a study abroad program at Georgia Tech inspired her to work and travel. She volunteered in 2005 as a teacher in South Africa and also lived in Los Angeles for 2 ½ years to work in the film and television industry. Among her travels includes a 2007 trip to Tanzania, Africa, where she climbed to the summit of Kilimanjaro.
